Description

Annual weeds of pastures, natural areas, and roadsides. The leaves are broadly kidney shaped. At maturity, the plants produce a narrow fruit which breaks into 5 segments. This long, narrow fruit gives rise to the common name of Carolina `cranesbill.` The leaves have prominent stipules at the base of the leaf stem.
