Very similar to Geum alepicum, but the leaves with the terminal lobe much the largest, while those of G. aleppicum have the lobes next to the terminal lobe the largest, or nearly as large as the terminal lobe. In Geum macrophyllum the leaf lobes are quite rounded, where in Geum alepicum they are acute. Note the hooked styles which cause the fruit to form a bur. Also very similar to the newly invasive Geum urbanum which has stipules almost as large half of the terminl leaf lobe.
