This European annual can be found in a variety of sites from waste ground to annual crop. The leaves are palmately divided, but each segment is pinnately lobed. The flowers have 5 large, yellow petals, each of which has a purple base which gives the flower a purple center. Note the way the stamens are clustered together; this is typical of the mallow family. Also known as flower-of-an-hour.
