Common Names: white-stem stickleaf, whitestem blazing star, small flowered blazing star, white stemmed stickleaf
The velcro-like surface of the leaves and fruit is the most distinctive feature of this small annual species. Both the common and scientific name refer to the prominently white (or often pinkish) stem. Commonly in dry, sandy sites. Very similar to M. dispersa which has broader floral bracts and less deeply lobed leaves.
